This summer has been ridiculously hectic – filled with weddings, reunions, getaways and parties. I am at the time of my life when all of my friends are getting married and having babies which means A LOT of celebrating. Although all of this summer’s festivities have been for wonderful reasons with amazing people, it has required a lot of driving. Don’t get me wrong; I love a good road trip. There is, however, a time when driving 3+ hours there and back every weekend can get a bit tiring.
To break up one of our latest excursions on the way back from Brainerd, Minnesota, we stopped at The Grande Depot just outside of St. Cloud. This side-of-the-road pit stop is filled with home accents, cookware, gourmet cheeses and all sorts of delicious sauces and dips. Oh and wine – so much wine!
T and I stocked up on some new tasty things to try out like a Sundried Tomato & Basil Bread Dipper from Wildly Delicious Fine Foods. We also decided to take our road trip snack food up a notch with some cracked pepper crisps and Australian sharp cheddar cheese.
The Grand Depot also was great for a little DIY project inspiration. Right now, I keep my recipes in a boring ol’ three ring binder. After coming across this beautifully made Recipe Keeper Flip Stand by CR Gibson, I will definitely be making some improvements to how I keep track of my favorite dishes and recipes. Stay tuned…
Another thing that jumped out at me was this nautical paddle hook. I have seen similar oar/paddle décor pieces before but I love the idea of adding a little paint to tie in my color scheme and personality.
In the end, The Grand Depot was a wonderful surprise on a long drive home. I came back with a few project ideas, some fabulous foods to try and another fun-filled summer weekend success.
