Life handed me a night out with my sister so we made our way to Northeast Minneapolis.

Minneapolis is no stranger to microbreweries but this past November a new taproom added a twist to the craft brew trend sweeping the city.  Sociable Cider Werks recently opened in Nordeast Minneapolis; a neighborhood with an already established reputation for taprooms and craft beer. Sociable is a cider house offering deliciously crafted beers as well as apple graffs (a mixture of beer wort and cider). My sister is new to the area and loves cider so we thought we would try er’ out.  I usually steer clear of ciders, not being a fan of sweeter drinks, but I was surprisingly pleased with both of the graffs they had available. After a few pints of cider, we decided to swing by Indeed Brewing Company and 612 Brew, two other breweries in the Minneapolis Brew District.  I had the seasonal Stir Crazy Winter Ale at Indeed and Rated R IPA at 612 Brew. Both hit the spot!

If you’re in Minneapolis and looking for a good pint and great atmosphere, be sure to check these out.

    • I haven’t made it to them all yet but of the ones I have, I would say either 612 Brew or Indeed are my favorites. 612 Brew is a little more “raw” than Indeed with its fermentation tanks right in the seating/bar area. The atmosphere itself is very unique there though. Large murals from a local artist in a rustic space with exposed brick and timber. Both are very different and worth checking out! You may be familiar, but keep in mind that most of the newer breweries don’t have food licenses so if you are after food as well, either schedule that into your plan or call the brewery to see if they are hosting any food trucks that day. Enjoy your adventure and stay warm out there!
